They happily celebrate this function by going to temple in the early morning and they also design Kolams in front of their home where they decorate with rice powder and different color powders also.
People in their family celebrate this auspicious day Happy New Year 2020 by making sweets and by wearing new dresses and as usual a great menu for their lunch. The main ingredients which they follow during that day is, they usually prepare mango pachadi which is prepared in the combination of neem flowers, mango, jaggery, tamarind juice, green chilli and salt. These are the main six primary emotions experienced by the human beings, so these are all added as the ingredients for the lunch where they believe that all the six combinations will make their life beautiful and prosperous.
This festival is celebrated moreover by all the people by different names by their own culture so it is termed to be a government holiday for the Tamil New Year. This is more famous and which is declared as a public holiday in both Tamilnadu and Sri Lanka and in the same date it has been noticed that in other places also it is celebrated as a traditional New year in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Manipur, Tripura, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh etc…
